Robert E. Irelan

PRESIDENT

R.E. (Bob) Irelan graduated from Colorado School of Mines with a degree in Petroleum Engineering and a Masters in Economics. Bob was a Vietnam Veteran in the Army.  Veteran affairs have been a long-term passion since he saw first-hand the way those Veterans in that era were treated! Bob has had over 50 years of experience in the oil and gas business. In his career, he worked for Conoco, Inc.  Rising through various engineering and managerial roles, Bob became Regional Manager of Conoco’s Upstream business.

Bob retired from Conoco and became Executive Vice President of Occidental Petroleum. In this role, Bob was responsible for all of Oxy’s business worldwide and completed a major restructuring of the company’s portfolio and personnel that enabled significant business performance growth. During his business career, Bob was deeply involved with industry organizations, serving as Past Chairman of UK offshore Operators, Midcontinental Oil and Gas, and New Mexico Oil and Gas.

Bob has been a proponent of non-profit participation, serving as past President of United Way of Midland, Midland Community Theater, Board member of Little Brothers and Sisters, Board Member of Paramount Theater, and Chairman of the facilities committee. Bob retired in 2005, and started several small businesses, including Naleri Investments, a real Estate business, and Oil and gas company. He is also an owner in BISS Product Development, a product design company.

Bob has been married to Ann for 54 years and has 4 children and 11 grandchildren, moving 26 times during their married life!
