Paul Haverstick

Colonel (Ret) Paul “Stick” Haverstick brings a wealth of experience from his 25-year military career as an Army Officer, with diverse roles in the Air Defense Artillery and Public Affairs communities.

Beginning as an Air Defense officer in the 3rd Infantry Division, he later commanded a battery in the 101st Airborne Division (AASLT) during the Iraq invasion. After serving as an Observer Controller and Rotation Planner at the Joint Readiness Training Center, he transitioned to public affairs, supporting Operation Enduring Freedom as an Operational Planner for Combined Forces Command – Afghanistan (CFC-A). A few years later, he returned to Afghanistan as the Director of Communications and primary spokesperson for the 1st Infantry Division and Combined Joint Force Command – 1 (CJTF-1).

His senior positions include the roles of DoD Director of Outreach – Senior Military Advisor, Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs, Commander of the American Forces Network-Europe, and leading U.S. Army Cadet Commands communication efforts to advance corporate goals and improve brand position for DoD’s largest commissioning source.

Retiring from the military as the Director of the Defense Media Activity (DMA), overseeing 1,600 teammates in 46 locations worldwide, Paul and his family now reside in Tampa, FL. In his consulting and advisory role, he collaborates with organizations to create and implement effective engagement strategies, drawing upon his extensive experience and expertise.

Paul’s civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science degree, a Master’s Degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communications from Georgetown University, and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies from the National War College.
